How soon can I get a container?

Future Storage makes a promise nobody else can: at your door in 24. This means we’ll deliver your container next-day, sometimes same-day, guaranteed (core or extended service area only). If we fail, your first month’s rent is free.

Sundays and holidays are excluded.

How many container sizes does Future Storage offer?

All of Future Storage’s containers are 16′ long (8 feet wide by 8 feet tall by 16 feet long). Each box features powder coated steel base, walls and roof, slip-resistant floor, double swinging doors on one end, 4 screened vents for airflow, water guard above door, and 12 tie down rings 3′ and 5′ from the floor. Weatherproof, rodentproof, annoyance-proof.

Does Future Storage tilt and slide boxes off flatbed trucks?

Seriously? How is that a thing?

Of course we don’t blindly slide your belongings around. We have an extremely friendly remote-controlled robot called MikeMikeMikeMikeMike, whose one job is to make sure containers are moved with no tilt. You will love him.

How much space do I need around my container to fit in on my property?

Our friendly robot MikeMikeMikeMikeMike snuggles containers into impossibly small spaces. Articulated steering and remote control operation allow dent-free, scratch-free placement of beautiful Future Storage boxes anywhere at your home or business, all year round. Or, almost anywhere: steep hills and soggy terrain make bad locations for storage containers. Paved areas or grass and gravel areas are much better. Call us to verify if you have site concerns.

Are Future Storage containers weatherproof?

This is Canada. Of course all Future Storage containers are 100% weatherproof, rodent-proof, sealed, and ventilated.

How long can I take loading and unloading my belongings?

As long as you like. You have no truck to return, unit to vacate, or any other reason to rush. Take your time.

Does the container have to stay at my home or business?

Nope! If you prefer, we can storage your full container at our secure and monitored yard, for an additional monthly charge of $25.

Do I have to drive the container?

Nope! Future Storage handles the driving.

Does Future Storage insure my belongings?

No. All property is stored at the customer’s sole risk, whether at the customer’s property, at the Future Storage yard, or during over-the-road transport. Note that most home insurance policies offer protection for stored goods, but it is the customer’s responsibility to confirm with their insurer(s).

Can I access my container?

This is the beauty of portable storage: the container on your property is yours to access any time you like. If your container is stored at the Future Storage yard, you can access it by appointment (contact us). Appointments can be made with 24 hours’ notice to us, usually fewer. Sunday and holiday appointments may not be available, but we are a family business, and we will try to help you as best as can.

The Future Storage yard is in Mount Hope, Ontario, 10 minutes south of Hamilton. The yard has indoor (not climate controlled) and outdoor space. It is secure and monitored 24/7/365.

Why do other companies’ containers look like rusty warthogs?

Most containers you’ll see are repurposed from prior lives as trans-oceanic shipping containers, and they look the part. Salt, rust, warping, corroding? Slop on some paint and get it on the road!

That’s how unlucky souls end up with this:

Future Storage containers didn’t have prior lives. They were built as storage containers, not shipping containers. They have one job, and so they stay looking vibrant and beautiful.

Who runs Future Storage?
